The LPs are an integral part of Baker McKenzie's Alternative Legal Services offering, and provide support to the Firm's Contentious, Advisory and Transactional Practice Groups on a wide range of projects.
Corporate Support Unit
The CSU provides support to the transactional practice group of Firm. This team consists of qualified lawyers who assist on a wide range of corporate and transactional projects.
The Office of the General Counsel has a very broad remit as the central compliance function for the Firm. It has responsibility for Firm Governance, Risk Management and Professional Responsibility. Key areas of responsibility include client intake and conflicts of interest, IT Security, data privacy, commercial contracts, compliance, risk based policies, procedures, projects and initiatives, firm structure, insurance, risk related HR matters, disputes and investigations
Global Corporate Maintenance Solutions
Our GCMS team provide our clients with an initial corporate compliance audit of all in scope entities, a corporate information data repository and compliance events tracker and global ongoing corporate maintenance coordination for all legal entities.
Professional Support Lawyers
Supporting global practice groups within the Firm, the Professional Support Lawyers team focus on the Firm's merger control services, develop internal resources, guides and toolkits, whilst providing support with multi-jurisdictional knowledge management initiatives.
Legal Project Management
The team works with Baker McKenzie lawyers around the world to ensure the high quality of legal advice is matched by the quality of our service delivery. They establish and manage budgets, timelines, resource plans, processes, communications tools and other key elements of matters. Although the work can be technical, success requires strong working relationships.
New Business Intake
The New Business Intake team is responsible for the registration of incoming New Clients and New Matters across all offices globally.
Strategic Sourcing / Procure to Pay
The team manage global procurement initiatives and support sourcing and transactional activities to ensure that the firm's acquisitions are; cost effective, fit for purpose and minimise the associated risks to the Firm.
The Finance team prepare the monthly management accounts, financial processes, payment to vendors and employees, budgeting, forecasting, statutory accounts and compliance with legislation. They manage external relationships, whilst the Client Credit team are responsible for allocating claims to equity partners for new work taken into the Firm. • Billing Our Billing team is responsible for preparing invoices for a number of the Firm's clients. By finalizing invoices and ensuring prompt delivery for payment, the team play a crucial role in the Quote to Cash process and delivering the Firm's revenue.
English Language Editing Services
The ELES team offer advanced proofreading and editing services. The reviewers are experienced in reviewing a wide range of legal and marketing documents.
Our facilities team are the first point of contact for most office related queries, including those connected to engineering and maintenance issues, cleaning, vending, stationary and much more.
The team provides senior support in thought leadership and development of best practice across the globe to a number of global practice groups including employment, tax, mergers and acquisitions and anti-trust groups.
Process & Quality
The Process and Quality team serve a critical role in the design and development of our services to meet customer expectations. Post service design they develop, lead and train on our Quality Management and Continual Service Improvement systems.
This team incorporates generalist HR services, talent acquisition, learning and development, global mobility, Careers Performance & Rewards as well as Talent Management that support our offices.
Our Technology teams include; On-site IT support, Cyber Security, Application Engineers, SharePoint Engineers, Technology Business Analysts, Product Managers, Security Vulnerability and Penetration Testing Engineers and DM Engineers. • IP Support Unit This team support offices handling client's global trademark portfolios across the Firm.
