Charlene McAuley - Manager
I am a corporate lawyer and Manager in the corporate team with a particular focus on capital markets transactions. I graduated from law at the University of Warwick in 2006 and with an LL.M. from Queen's University Belfast and the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2008. I qualified as a solicitor in September 2016, after which I worked at a specialist financial legal consultancy and in the in-house team of a Tier 1 investment bank with responsibility for drafting and negotiating derivative and commodity documentation, before joining Baker McKenzie as a Junior Lawyer in November 2018. I was promoted to Lawyer in 2021. I currently specialise in equity and debt capital market transactions including IPOs, rights issues, and bond offerings.
My role involves working alongside and supporting colleagues from across our global network of offices on capital markets and banking and finance transactions. To date I have worked with deal teams from our London, Zurich, Dubai, Frankfurt, Sydney, Singapore, Stockholm, and Istanbul offices. Working directly alongside Baker McKenzie's talented and market-leading partners and associates on high-profile deals has not only given me exposure to a variety and size of deals that I would otherwise not have the opportunity to work on in the local market, but has allowed me to continually develop my skillset and learn from some of the best partners and associates in their fields. Baker McKenzie's culture of friendship and 'One Global team' ethos is very much evident when slotting into the various deal teams - I am very much treated as part of the deal team and am welcomed with open arms. The variety of deals that I have the opportunity to work on means that my job is always interesting, and the ability to learn new skills and deal with experienced colleagues across the globe is highly rewarding.
