Megan O'Connor - Trainee Lawyer
After graduating from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Law and French, I joined the Firm as a Legal Professional in 2019 and was subsequently promoted to Specialist Legal Professional in 2020. I was a member of the commercial team and worked on a broad spectrum of legal areas, including commercial contracts, technology, and consumer law. I also had the opportunity to gain in-house experience while on secondment to both an intellectual property team for a leading social media platform and a commercial team in a telecoms company.
In September 2022, I successfully applied for a place on the Firm’s newly launched Solicitors Qualifying Exam (“SQE”) programme to qualify as a solicitor. Application to this training contract is open to members of the legal services team who wish to qualify as a solicitor and work in Northern Ireland for the highest calibre of clients. Broadly, the process involves passing the SQE and undertaking two years of qualifying work experience in Belfast. Trainee Lawyers gain experience in the Firm’s global, fast paced, and progressive environment across a variety of areas of law including corporate, commercial, data protection, and risk and compliance.
