Sarah Wilson - Junior Lawyer
I joined Baker McKenzie in January 2023 as a Junior Lawyer in the corporate team after completing my training contract with a local commercial firm. Before commencing my training contract I previously worked at Baker McKenzie as an IP Paralegal. After completing my undergraduate degree I also lived in Barcelona for three years and worked for a Canadian Share Plan Administration company within their Regulatory team.
I find Baker McKenzie a great place to work, hence my return upon qualification, and have really enjoyed the variety of work and the camaraderie of the corporate team. I have learnt a lot within the first few months of being in the team and my colleagues are always willing to answer questions and share their knowledge. The work life balance as a result of the flexible working model is really valuable to me, and the time in the office is a great way to connect with the team and other colleagues in the Firm.
I am a member of the Belfast Gender Committee and we have had a busy start to 2023 organising and hosting various events to mark International Women's Day. I am looking forward to the rest of the events the committee has in store for the rest of the year, and am grateful to be involved in the CSR activities of the Firm. During my previous time at the Firm I worked as Project Coordinator for a multi-jurisdictional Pro-Bono project, with Consortium for Street Children to create an Atlas detailing street children's rights around the world. This is something I really enjoyed working on and look forward to getting involved with future Pro Bono projects at Baker McKenzie.
